Shatrughan Sinha backs veterans, says ‘Gang of 4-Bang on target’

Patna: Disgruntled MP Shatrughan Sinha, who has been vocal against the party high command in past few days, on Tuesday backed the veterans’ demand for introspection post the BJP’s dismal show in the Bihar Assembly polls.

Sinha in a series of tweets launched a veiled attack on the top brass, saying the ‘gang of four was bang on target’.

“After the noise of the electoral fireworks, it’s time to experience the soothing glow, brightness and tranquillity of Deepavali. Happy Diwali,” he said in a tweet.

“Right and high time to follow the friend, philosopher, guru, guiding light and his team of four. Relay race has begun. Gang of 4-Bang on target,” he added.

Two days after the BJP suffered a shocking defeat in Bihar, the veterans in the party have hit out at the leadership.

A joint statement by LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Shanta Kumar and Yashwant Sinha has sought a thorough review of the BJP’s defeat in Bihar assembly elections, stating that the party failed to learn lessons from the fiasco in Delhi assembly elections.

“To say that everyone is responsible for the defeat is to ensure that no one is held responsible,” says the statement, which has been signed by Yashwant Sinha. (ANI)
