Siasat’s Islamic Calligraphy Exhibition in Jeddah ends

Hyderabad: The three day exhibition of Islamic calligraphy organized by Siasat Urdu Daily at Indian Embassy in Jeddah came to an end yesterday.

It may be mentioned that the Consul General of India, Jeddah, Mr. Noor Rahman Shaikh had inaugurated this exhibition on Thursday in which the masterpieces of Islamic calligraphy were exhibited. Hyderabadi Artist, Mr. Yonus M. Hafeez told Saudi Gazette that his work and the chanting the name of Allah (SWT) gets the central point in his art. The chanting the name of Allah (SWT) links us with our work.

He further told that his art consists of a combination of the modern art. He informed that 99 names of Allah (SWT) have been written in various styles. Mr. Hafeez further told that his selection for this work is an honour for him.

Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan, Managing Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily told that he is hopeful of the revival of this art. He told that in Hyderabad there are three thousand masterpieces of Islamic Calligraphy and Painting. Ladies are also taking interest in this art and they are getting encouragement.

Mr. Ghazanfar Ali Zaki, General Secretary, SIBN, coordinated the event and played a crucial role in its success.

Another Hyderabadi artist, Mr. Abdul Lateef Farooqui told that he gives importance to nature in his art. He exposes his paintings in such a way that the persons who see them get associated with Allah (SWT). He makes an attempt to depict the words of Allah (SWT) in his paintings. Referring to one of his paintings, he said that on one side a ditch is shown and on the other side a mob is being pushed toward the fire in the ditch. This depicts the concept of hell.

The visitors who saw this exhibition praised a lot about the efforts of Siasat Urdu Daily.
