Hyderabad: Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan, Managing Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily distributed relief to 1500 flood victims of Bihar in Seemanchal area. The relief include clothes and food grain packages. Mr. Mujahid Alam, MLA, Mr. Mohammed Ghouse, Congress leader and Mr. Buland Akhtar Hashmi accompanied him.
Soon after getting information from Bihar, Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily had sent Mr. Amjadullah Khan Khalid, former Corporator to Bihar.
While talking to newsmen, Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan told that many people represented to him that English should be taught along with modern education in order to remove illiteracy. They also told him that computer education and job oriented courses for ladies are needed. Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan assured that necessary steps would be taken by Siasat Urdu Daily. Members of voluntary organizations informed him that educational progress of the region could change the lifestyle of the people. Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan also told that welfare activities of Siasat are not new, earlier relief was provided to the earthquake victims of Kashmir and Latur. Siasat Urdu Daily also provided help to the riot victims of Muzaffar Nagar and Gujarat. He also mentioned the cooperation of Mr. Iftakhar Husain, Secretary of Faiz-e-Aam Trust and Mr. Shoukat Ali Mirza, Secretary of Helping Hand. He informed that so far, 20000 garments have so far been distributed. The distribution of garments will continue for another 15 days. He said that with the help of local organizations, English proficiency courses and professional courses of short term duration for ladies would be organized. He also mentioned that relief given by the Govt. is not sufficient since the victims are large in numbers.
Mr. Mohammed Ghouse, former Corporator distributed garments and helped the relief program. Mr. Mujahid Alam, MLA thanked the cooperation of Siasat Urdu Daily. He further said that he cannot forget this help. He also told that the people of Seemanchal would pray for all those who have extended their help.
