Former Telecom Minister Kapil Sibal on Thursday refuted the allegations levelled against him by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley that the CBI acted on his behest to file a charge sheet in a case of additional spectrum of 2002 the NDA Government.
“The rumour has it, that the Finance Minister manages CBI better than anybody else. I would request my good friend Jaitley to check with the CBI, if I have ever spoken to them about this case,” Sibal told the media here.
“I learned about prosecution after reading it from the newspapers, Jaitley seems to be living in a world of his own,” he added.
Taking a jibe at the Finance Minister’s “manufactured process” remark at literary icons returning their awards, Sibal said “I would suggest that this particular allegation of Jaitley is also manufactured.”
Jaitley earlier targeted Sibal at “whose behest” CBI filed a charge sheet in a case of additional spectrum of 2002 which a special court on Thursday dismissed as “fabricated”.
“Indeed the officers are guilty of fabricating charges against an honest Civil Servant and others. There is no doubt that the charge sheet was filed at the behest of Kapil Sibal, the Telecom Minister in the UPA Government” he wrote a post on Facebook. (ANI)
