KARACHI: Thousands attended funeral prayers of noted singer-turned religious scholar, Junaid Jamshed, after which he was laid to rest at Dar ul Aloom, Korangi in Karachi.
Funeral prayer was offered after Zuhr on Thursday.
Religious scholar Maulana Tariq Jameel led the prayer which was attended by family members, political leaders and people from all walks of life.

Junaid’s body has been identified with the help of dental and facial X-rays.
A high-profile member of the Tablighi Jamaat, the 52-year-old Jamshed and his second wife was on board at the ill-fated PK-661 flight that crashed en route to Islamabad on December 7 killing all passengers on board.
