Six-inch-long ‘Snake’ Found in Mid-Day Meal in Odisha

CUTTACK: A six-inch-long snake found in the mid-day meal which is served at a school in Tulasipur area in Odisha’s Cuttack district on Thursday.

When the meal is been served to the students a teacher Murali Sahu of Raghunath Jew School, which houses both upper primary and high school,spotted the six-inch-long snake in the food.

Mr. Murali raised an alarm and called the higher authorities. The headmistress of the school also found the same thing in the meal.

She reported the matter to the district education officer and block education officer. “I have directed an official to enquire into the matter and submit a report,” said DEO Niranjan Behera.

The meal was supplied by the Akshay Patra Foundation, however, the authorities of the foundation denied the claims by saying that it was a yard-long bean, not a snake.

At least 150 students were served mid-day meal at around 12.30 pm daily.
