Six militants hanged in Kabul’s Pul-i-Charkhi prison

PuliCharkhi

Kabul : At least six militants have been hanged in Afghan National Detention Facility, days after the government vowed punishment for militants convicted of terror charges.

Also called Pul-i-Charkhi, it is the largest prison in the country, east of Kabul.

The execution of militants follows over a week after President Ashraf Ghani sought the list of militants sentenced to death, reports Khaama Press.

The list was asked following a deadly attack on VIP protection unit in Kabul last month which left at least 64 dead and 347 others wounded.

Though the Taliban group claimed responsibility for the attack, officials doubt the Pakistan-based Haqqani terrorist network plotted and carried out the attack. (ANI)
