Skill building of DWCRA groups to generate economic activity: CM

In a review meeting on DWCRA loans, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu directed the officials to do macro-level planning to generate economic activity at a micro level. He emphasized on creating networking of markets.

Naidu further added that the DWCRA groups must be educated on the long-term benefits of the self-help groups. The Chief Minister added that they introduced a monthly income system to alleviate poverty and empower women. “They must be made aware of the long-term benefits of the self-help groups and the financial boost it provides to their families,” he added.

By skill building, maintenance of urban sanitation through ‘Watch and Ward’ program and construction of 50,000 toilets in schools will be given to DWCRA groups,” the Chief Minister said.

Ministers Mrunalini, Peethala Sujatha, State Planning Board vice-chairman Ch. Kutumba Rao, Secretary (industries) SS Rawat, Secretary (Finance) PV Ramesh, Secretary to CM Sai Prasad, Principal Secretary to CM Satish Chandra and others were present. (INN)
