Slain Hyderabad techie’s body reaches Shamsabad airport

Hyderabad: The body of Hyderabad techie Srinivas Kuchibhotla, who was shot dead in the US in suspected hate crime, was brought to Hyderabad on Monday night. The body of the engineer reached Hyderabad airport by Air India flight. Kuchibhotla’s widow Sunayana Dumala, her brother, sister-in-law and another relative accompanied the body.

The body reached Shamsabad airport at 9:45 pm. Srinivas’ father and his family members were only allowed to reach VIP lounge of the airport to collect the body.

Transport minister P Mahender Reddy, Malkajgiri MP CH Mallareddy, MLA G Kishan Reddy and KP Vivekananda were among those who reached airport.

A huge crowd thronged airport to have a glimpse of slain youth. The body was shifted to his residence at Bachupally in the form of a procession. The government arranged for the ambulance. Srinivas’ last rites are likely to be performed at 11:30 am at Jubilee Hills.

Kuchibhotla was killed by Adam W. Purinton, a former Navy serviceman in Kansas State on February 22 night.
