Srinagar: The flight operations at the Srinagar Airport were hampered this morning due to fresh snowfall in the region.

Several flights, including one Indigo Airlines flight and one Jet Airways flight, were delayed leaving the passengers stranded at the airport.

Many areas in the higher reaches of Kashmir, including Gulmarg and Pahalgam, received fresh snowfall while the plains of the Valley experienced rains yesterday.

The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway has been closed for traffic in view of snowfall at Jawahar tunnel.

On Wednesday, Gulmarg reportedly witnessed a minimum temperature of minus 4.5 degree Celsius and was coldest in the valley. Srinagar recorded a maximum temperature of 5.3 degree Celsius during the day while the minimum was recorded at 1.3 degree. (ANI)
