Bhopal: Sohrabuddin’s brother Ruhabuddin and his guard are hospitalised as a VHP leader, Bhairulala Tank assaulted them in Ujjain district.
The incident took place at a Kundan Yadav’s house around 4 pm on Monday.
Ruhabuddin is the brother of Sohrabuddin Sheikh who was a victim of deadly “fake” encounter case while he was still in police custody on 26 Nov 2005.
Since the incident took place, both the parties have been given police protection as both of them run a Cow protection campaign.
A case of attempt to murder have been registered against Tank and 19 others associated to the attempt.
“I went to Yadav’s house to greet him on the occasion of Diwali, but Tank objected my presence in a Hindu locality,” Ruhab said.
“Tank severely beat me up due to which my artificial leg got separated and I fell down. Moreover Tank also fired in the air,” Ruhab added.
Meanwhile Ajay Kumar, Nagda police station in charge said that no arrests has been made yet and the incident is considered as a dispute on property.
