Gaza :Palestinians in Gaza face regular power cuts as electricity supply remains well below demand. OFID extended a US$500,000 grant to Human Appeal International (HAI) to address this severe power shortage in 2014.

The grant is enabling the installation of off-grid photovoltaic systems for solar electricity generation for a number of selected health and education facilities and local households in the Gaza Strip.
Thousands of patients at beneficiary hospitals, as well as over 4,000 pupils attending beneficiary schools will directly benefit from this program. Furthermore, over 700 people or 90 households will have reliable access to electricity.
