Son of Dubai ruler dies of heart attack at the age of 34

Dubai: Shaikh Rashid Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum died at the age of 34 after suffering from a heart attack.

Shaikh Rashid is the eldest son of Dubai’s ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum. Sheikh Mohammed, in addition to his role as Dubai ruler is also vice president and prime minister of the UAE.

Sheikh Rashid was an avid sportsman and horse racing enthusiast. He was the owner of Zabeel Stables.

Prayers will be held after Maghrib at Zabeel mosque this evening, followed by funeral held in Bur Dubai’s Umm Hurair cemetery.

Dubai Ruler’s Court declared a three-day mourning period from Saturday.

“We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return,” the Dubai Ruler Court said as it mourned Shaikh Rashid’s death on Saturday.

President Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan mourned the death of Shaikh Rashid and also expressed his heartfelt condolences and solace to Shaikh Mohammad.
