2 Liters milk
250 gms sooji
– 2 Cups sugar
1/2 tsp Cardamom powder
1/2 Cup cashew nuts
Soaked saffron strands
rose water(1 tbsp)
melon seeds and poppy seeds for garnishing
Grated coconut 1/2 cup
Put milk in a thick bottomed pan and add sugar to it.
Wash sooji and soak in water.
Add sooji slowly to the milk,make sure the lumps are not formed.
Add grated coconut and chopped cashew nuts.
Cook it till it turns thick.
Check the consistency of firni on a porcelain plate.
Stir it for a while.
Add rose water to the firni paste.
Place it in a plate or bowl and garnish with poppy seeds and melon seeds and keep it in refrigerator.
Serve it chilled.
