SP will return to power on basis of development: Akhilesh

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today claimed that Samajwadi Party will return to power on the basis of development works undertaken during the five years of his government.

“We have to work really hard for next five months to publicise the works done during the last five years of the government to the people..(if we do so) we will get another five years,” Yadav said after flagging off “Mulayam Sandesh Yatra’ for the upcoming polls at the party headquarters here.

Making a veiled attack on BJP, he said his government has done more work on ground than those who had promised ‘achchey din’ and development and added that metro is being constructed at three places and not just at one place in the state.

“Metro is being made in the parliamentary constituency of Home Minister Rajnath Singh and if we get opportunity we will make one in the constituency of Prime Minister,” he said.

“Opposition parties are worried because of the works and policies of SP government…..BSP had made parks in which the elephants erected have not moved ..whereas we have given pension to 55 lakh women,” he said.

The Chief Minister said though his government did a lot of good work, it was not able to adequately publicise them.

He appealed to the party workers to work hard for the next five months and reach the people.

“If they can do this, SP will form the government for next five years,” he said.

The yatra will cover four divisions in the first phase and will end in Lucknow on September 20.
