Speed up Ambedkar statue works: Srihari

Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari today directed the officials to speed up the process of erecting 125 mt tall Ambedkar statue in Hyderabad to mark his 125th birth anniversary. Srihari heading Ambedkar statue construction committee held a meeting at Secretariat here attended by deputy chief minister Mahamood Ali, Home Minister N Narsimha Reddy, G Jagadish Reddy and other officials. He asked the officials to monitor the construction works of 125 mt tall Ambedkar statue as per Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s wish to erect the statue near NTR Marg before deadline.

After a power point presentation by JNTU Fine Arts College Vice Chancellor P Padmavathi on the tallest statues of noted personalities in the country, Srihari decided to set up a technical committee to speed up the works. It was also decided to make a visit Ramanuja Swamy statue being set up by Chinna Jeeyar Swamy on Aug 14 and visit Gujrat on Aug 21 and 22 to see the construction of statue of Sardhar Vallabh Bhai Patel.

Both deputy chief ministers Srihari and Ali, MPs B Suman, P Dayakar, MLA G Balaraju, TSPSC Chairman G Chakrapani, Budhavanam OSD Mallepally Lakshmaiah will visit these places along with others decided by the committee including engineer in chief Ganapathi Reddy, Architect Srinivas Reddy, Gangadhar, Padmavathi.
