Nepal: Over-speeding bus crash killed one Indian, injured 20

Kathmandu: An allegedly over-speeding bus injured 20 people and killed an Indian on Saturday in Nepal’s western Banke district.

Niluji Adhikary, 35-year-old resident of Kolkata, died on the spot in Rapti Sunari Rural Municipality-9 which is around 500 kms west of Kathmandu, Hindustan Times reported.

Deputy superintendent of police Suresh Kafle said that the bus was heading towards Surkhet from Butwal, turned upside down at Dhakeri area in the early hours of the day. All the injured people were rushed to a nearby hospital.

The police informed that most of the passengers were Indian labourers who travel to Nepal on a daily basis for work. The driver of the bus has been arrested for suspected overspeeding.
