The Role
A well renowned and very well established gulf based bank is currently looking for a senior project manager with an excellent track record of managing end to end implementation projects related to lending/bank information systems. Candidate should also have experience of working on one of the platforms from RLS, Finacle, Flagship and Polaris.

Key Points :
•Must have project management experience in banking having a good experience in working with credit cards projects
•Should be more a people’s guy and should have a good negotiation experience with all vendors

Job Purpose:

•To be responsible for assigned projects to implement new information systems within the Bank.
•To supervise project managers and ensure related projects are adequately managed.
•To manage, monitor, track and mentor all project managers assigned.
•To ensure that the Bank has in place a project management methodology and relevant documentation standards to govern the execution of such projects and that this documentation is maintained.
•To ensure that the execution of information systems projects in the Bank to the extent possible is characterised by on-time and on-budget delivery, with high standards of risk and issue management.

Requirements
Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

•Responsible for management and delivery of projects assigned by Senior Manager – BIS
•Responsible to delegate, monitor and manage project, sub-projects or units of work assigned to project managers.
•To be involved in the legal review of contractual agreements with vendors for delivery of systems or implementation services.
•To be aware of operational risk in the execution of IT-PMO responsibilities and that it is adequately monitoring and reporting operational risk incidents.
•To maintain involvement with relevant business areas to agree the most appropriate solution for new business initiatives.
•Must be business driven with a thorough and proven understanding of Retail Banking activities and products.
•Responsible to undertake structured analysis of vendor proposals for the supply of new system solutions in close collaboration with the concerned business unit.
•Responsible for the execution of projects to implement selected new information systems.
•Accountable for managing the allocated budget for assigned projects and reporting budget utilisation.
•Responsible for the identification and management of project risks in each of the assigned projects.
•Responsible for the recording and managing of business area and technical issues in each of the assigned projects.
•Responsible for the formulation of standards documentation for the management of information systems projects within the Bank.
•Must have knowledge of banking from a business perspective
•Must understand the interactions of the various systems that make up the Bank’s information systems environment.
•Must ensure that new system initiatives fit with the Bank’s IT strategic objectives and can coordinate effectively with the Bank’s information systems environment.
•Must be able to establish the “impact of change” from the introduction of new software versions or new product.
•Must be able to manage the business area change that is required with the introduction of a new system and, to the extent possible, ensure its ready acceptance.
•Continuously seek innovation in project management techniques to provide “best of breed” implementations
