SRK sees a glimpse of him in me, says Anshuman Jha

New Delhi : Actor Anshuman Jha, who began his career with the 2010 flick ‘ Love Sex Aur Dhokha’, has not looked back since then as he has received critically acclaims for almost all his films, including the recently released ` Chauranga`.

But now, the actor has taken a pause from his film career for a while and walked back to his first love, theatre.

Anshuman is now a part of Kingdom of Dreams’ musical play ‘Jhumroo’, which was earlier enacted by actor Gaurav Gera.

The moment Anshuman takes to the stage, the audience feels a glimpse of King Khan Shah Rukh in him.

When asked about his SRK influence, Anshuman told ANI, “I shot with Shah Rukh Khan about six months ago and during that time he kept telling me that he sees a glimpse of him in me. I have grown up watching him and I won’t shy away from saying that our generation has been influenced by him. However, I have been lucky to have been exposed to different sort of directions and films. On top of that, theatre has helped me to explore and keep polishing my skills.”

He added while he was away from the theatre to fulfill other commitments, he missed it so much that he had to put other things on hold to do theatre in some or the other form and agreed to be a part of ‘Jhumroo’ when given the opportunity.

Anshuman revealed that he was offered ‘Jhumroo’ initially but he could not take it up because of his film commitments and the role eventually fell in Gaurav’s kitty.

However, the actor is not under any pressure of carrying the show forward after Gaurav’s exit as he believes every actor has their own calibre.

‘ Jhumroo’ is a dazzling theatrical based on the splendid music of the legendary Kishore Kumar.

It revolves around a heartwarming love story of a simpleton, madly in love with a beautiful girl and the lengths he goes to win her heart and soul. (ANI)
