Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today directed that the officials should complete works of SRSP second phase and Tupakulagudem projects by June 2018.
At a high level review meeting here the minister discussed on the projects and took stock of the works. Stating that the works should be speeded up the minister said that Tupakulagudem project is key for completion Devadula stabilisation works. He said that Devadula pumps will continuously for 10 months and help stabilize 6 lakhs acres and irrigate 4 lakh acres in drought hit areas of old Nalgonda, Khammam and Warangal districts.
Keeping this in view the officials should expedite the works he said. Besides repairing canal linings and desilting should be taken up as part of project works to irrigate 2.13 lakh acrsin Kodad Assembly segment, 75,262 acres in Khammam areas and 1.09 lakh acres in Warangal area. As Kaleshwaram will be connected with SRSP second phase works should be completed. (NSS)
