Both State & Centre showing apathy to SCs: Ponnam

Alleging that the state and central governments were showing discrimination towards dhaliths, the former MP Ponnam Prabhakar stated that the state government insulted the sincere Dalith IAS officer Pradeep Chandra by not extending his Chief Secretary tenure.

In a press note issued today, Ponnam alleged that the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao didn’t bother while knowing the fact that the tenure was nearing. KCR has thrown the blame on Centre, he said and the state government organised a send-off party to control the damage took place due to allegations came against the government.

The Chief Minister once again insulted Pradeep Chandra, who had played key role in preparing TS-IPASS, once again by abstaining from attending the send-off party. It will show its impact on young Dalith officials, he said and demanded the state government to utilise the services of Pradeep Chandra now by giving an important position for the development of the state.

The Chief Minister failed to make a dalith as a first Chief Minister of the state and removed Dalith MLA T Rajaiah from Deputy Chief Minister post in the name of corrupt allegations, he said. The Chief Minister failed to give three acre land to Daliths and was not fulfilling SC Backlog posts, he alleged and said that the government was not implementing SC, ST Sub-Plan properly and doing injustice to them.

It was unfortunate that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself insulted the Daliths by giving award to University of Hyderabad vice-chancellor Prof. P Appa Rao, who was the reason for the death of research scholar Vemula Rohith, at Tirupati Science Congress. The Modi failed to give priority to Daliths in Cabinet. Modi was least bothered though the attacks were taking place against Daliths in the nation, Ponnam said and alleged that both state and central governments were showing discriminations towards and giving top priority to corporate companies. He warned that the people would teach a fitting lesson to both the government in the coming days if they failed to change their attitude. (NSS)
