Students gearing up for another massive protest

Hyderabad: The students of Telangana have decided to launch once again a massive protest against the attitude of the Govt. for not releasing the amounts of scholarship and fee reimbursement. They say Govt. is closing down the opportunities for getting higher education. They complain that many managements do not admit students without paying the fees. The students are gearing up to launch a massive campaign against the Govt. They are mustering support various organizations and joint action committees of the students. It is hoped that very soon they would start a massive agitation. They have threatened that this agitation could also turn violent. Due to the lethargic attitude of the Govt., SCs, STs, BCs and Muslims students have suffered a lot. The students have given an ultimatum to the Govt. till 20th October.

It is said that the fees reimbursement scheme was stopped due to financial difficulties. Principal Secretary of CM, Mr. Narasing Rao told that the financial status of Govt. of Telangana is better now. Revenue Dept. generated income more than expected. It has collected 31% more income. It has pooled up Rs. 1975 crore this year. Excise Dept. is expected to collect Rs. 3000 crore. If Govt. becomes successful in auctioning its lands, it would generate an income Rs. 12000 crore. Taking all these facts into consideration, the students hope that their issues would be resolved.
