Sub-plan funds for Tribal uplift: Chandulal

Tribal Welfare Minister A Chandulal today directed that the officials spend all sub plan funds for economic growth of the Tribals with a focus on education and health. He also asked to provide security and social status.

At a high-level review meeting at Secretariat here, Chandulal said the aim of the Tribal sub-plan was for inclusive growth by improving their living standards by providing quality education, better health and training to unskilled to get jobs and employment opportunities. It was decided to offer training to the tribals through National Academy of Construction (NAC) and give them contracts works of development worth Rs 10 lakh at village level, he stated.

The Government will spend Rs 17 crore to construct 125 health sub-centers for better health amenities in tribal habitats, Chandulal said, adding that construction of individual toilets will be given to Tribal youth as part of Swatch Bharath program. He asked to release funds to those using below 50 units of power, steps to bring down power charges, supply LED bulbs and solar motors to farmers lacking power supply to their farms. Those who obtained loans should begin their business taking permission from nodal agency and asked to release subsidy to entrepreneurs. He also asked the people to press for 104 and 108 vehicles to these villages and take up regular health checkups at welfare hostels. (NSS)
