Cardamom futures slide 0.92% on profit booking

New delhi: Cardamom prices moved down by 0.92 per cent to Rs 1,567.90 per kg in futures trade today as speculators booked profits at prevailing levels, driven by a fall in demand at the spot market against adequate stock position.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in far-month March fell by Rs 14.50, or 0.92 per cent, to Rs 1,567.90 per kg in business turnover of 48 lots.

Likewise, the spice for delivery in February month contracts was trading lower by Rs 9.70, or 0.63 per cent, to Rs 1,534 per kg in 103 lots.

Besides profit-booking by participants at existing levels, easing of demand at the spot market against ample stocks position led to fall in cardamom prices at futures trade, marketmen said.
