Sugar prices fall by Rs 30 per quintal

New Delhi: Sugar prices retreated by Rs 30 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today, dragged down by ample stocks following persistent supplies from mills against muted demand from bulk consumers.

Marketmen attributed fall in sweetener prices to ample stocks in the market on sustained supplies from mills against fall in demand from bulk consumers.

Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices slipped by Rs 30 each to settle at Rs 3,200-3,350 and Rs 3,190-3,340 per quintal.

Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices eased by Rs 20 each to end at Rs 3,020-3,110 and Rs 3,010-3,100 per quintal.

In the millgate section, sugar Asmoli dropped the most by Rs 20 at Rs 3,060, while Kinnoni, Dorala, Simbholi and Anupshaher lost Rs 10 each at Rs 3,110, Rs 3,040, Rs 3,080, Rs 3,050 per quintal respectively.
