Supergiants’ Pietersen ruled out of IPL with calf injury

Pune : In a major blow to Rising Pune Supergiants, batsman Kevin Pietersen has been ruled out of the remaining matches of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) due to calf injury.

The 35-year-old sustained an injury in his right calf during his side’s 13-run defeat against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) Stadium on Friday.

Posting his picture, Pietersen announced through his Instagram account that he would not take further part in the tournament.
