Suravaram asks PM to order probe against KCR

CPI national general secretary Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy has demanded that the Centre order a comprehensive inquiry into allocations made by then Union Labor Minister and present Telangana State Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao during his tenure as a Union Minister.

Speaking to the media here on Thursday, Suravaram said the conduct of KCR as Union Labor Minister was objectionable. He said he would lodge a complaint with Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with Left Parties’ MPs in this regard. He said KCR’s “monarchic” attitude towards the Opposition parties was not correct.

Referring to KCR’s proposed Chandi Yagam, Suravaram said the Chief Minister should perform Chandi Yagam with his own money and made it clear that the CPI would not relent if the Chief Minister performs the Yagam with public money. “Beliefs are personal and people’s representatives in a democracy should not spend public money on such things”, he opined.

Responding on cow protection, Suravaram said the CPI was not against protection of cows. Finding fault with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s description of Bihar leaders — Nitish Kumar, Lallu Prasad Yadav and Sharad Yadav — as ‘Three Idiots’, Suravaram said such remarks were not up to the level of a Prime Minister. He also ridiculed Union Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu by saying that Naidu sees God’s Messenger in Narendra Modi after Modi becoming Prime Minister. Exuding confidence that Left parties’ candidate Gali Vinod Kumar in Warangal by-election would win definitely, Suravaram said the people would ensure victory of Vinod Kumar by a handsome majority.
