Survey on Triple Talaq Issue in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The Centre for Development and Research Policy (CDRP) along with Abu Saleh Shariff, member-secretary of the Sachar Committee is going to conduct survey in Hyderabad on the triple talaq issue.
The committee has developed a module of total 50 questions. Survey in-charge Mohammed Liaqat Ali said “ We will collect responses from 18,000 respondents. The survey will also be available online. It is for both men and women. Members are going to each and every house and asking people for their knowledge and opinion about talaq ”.
“In most cases, we find that people don’t have proper knowledge of Islam, and they are not aware of women’s rights. Islam has given equal rights to both men and women. However, women are deprived of their rights, and the issue of talaq is being misused. Oral talaq delivered thrice in one sitting is not accepted, and the saddest part is that men don’t know about it, because they haven’t received proper Islamic education” says Liaqat Ali.
The committee aims for knowing the opinions of the people about the triple talaq rule and also if the new generation seeks any amendments in the current laws regarding the triple talaq, as reported in Deccan Chronicle.
