Swamy backs Maheish Girri’s protest, trains gun at ‘Naxal’ Kejriwal

New Delhi : BJP leader Subramanian Swamy on Monday joined East Delhi MP Maheish Girri, who is on an indefinite fast outside Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence here demanding his resignation over his alleged involvement in the murder of an MCD official.

Swamy alleged that Kejriwal, who has done several frauds in his life, practices Naxal ideology.

“Maheish Girri is a religious person. I have come in support of Maheish Girri because Chief Minister Kejriwal has leveled baseless allegations. However, it is not at all surprising that Kejriwal and his people have leveled such baseless allegations. Kejriwal is influenced by Naxal ideology. He has been hiding this from the people. In his entire life, he has done frauds,” Swamy told the media here.

“I am sure Maheish Girri, who is an extremely religious man and has devoted his entire life to public service, will not do anything wrong,” he added.

The BJP lawmaker from East Delhi has been sitting on a hunger strike since yesterday with posters challenging Kejriwal for a debate.

Girri earlier in the day said that his hunger strike would continue and dared Kejriwal for a debate.

“The hunger strike is going to continue. The Delhi Chief Minister has leveled baseless allegations of my involvement in NDMC official MM Khan’s murder,” he told ANI.

“I will not even move from here till he comes out and I get justice,” he added.

In a letter to Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung, Kejriwal had accused the former of trying to “save” Girri and NDMC vice-chairman Karan Singh Tanwar in Khan’s murder case.

Girri had asked Kejriwal for a public debate on his allegations.

Khan was shot dead in Jamia Nagar on May 16, a day before he was scheduled to pass the final order on the lease terms of a hotel which was functioning on a property leased out by the civic body. (ANI)
