Syed Mustafa Hashmi and Syed Murtuza Hashmi from Osmania Medical College win Hyderabad regional round of Tata Crucible Campus Quiz 2016

Hyderabad: The prestigious and much awaited Tata Crucible Campus Quiz is back with its intelligent format and stimulating questions to challenge college students across the country.Syed Mustafa Hashmi and Syed Murtuza Hashmi from Osmania Medical Collegedefeated 150 number of teams to win the Hyderabadregional round of Tata Crucible Campus Quiz 2016 held today in Keshav Memorial Institute of Commerce & Sciences in Narayanguda. They will now battle against the champions from 8 cities at the Zone 4 finals in Chennai.

Syed Manzoor and Muneer Ali from ICSI were declared as the runners-up. The 12th edition of Tata Crucible Campus Quiz is a unique 20-20 game to be played on the basis of a 20 question Prelim followed by a T20 format final.

The quiz that has now expanded to 36 cities has numerous exciting rounds in the T20 format. These rounds are designed to test the contestants’ speed of thought and endurance for them to battle out their way to the top of the leader board

The winners of the Hyderabad regional round were awarded a prize money of Rs. 75,000* and the runners-up Rs. 35,000* respectively. The winners of the national finals will receive a grand prize of Rs. 5, 00,000 /-* along with the coveted Tata Crucible Trophy.(*Subject to tax deduction applicable at source)

Mr. K. Mohanchandran, Area Director – Hyderabad & General Manager-Taj Krishnafelicitated the winners.
The top six teams were selected after a preliminary written and a subsequent wild card round (only from the cities where it was held). Besides the winners and the runners-up, the four stage finalist teams included NALSAR, BITS Pillani-Hyderabad Campus, IPE and NIT Warangal.

The quiz was hosted by ace quizmaster Giri Balasubramaniam, better known as ‘Pickbrain’ who through his questions kept the contestants and the audience constantly engaged.

The prizes for Tata Crucible Campus Quiz this year are being supported by Tata Docomo, Fastrack and Tata Motors.
