T auto drivers JAC hail multi level flyovers plan

Telangana Auto Drivers JAC while welcoming the plan to build twenty multi-level flyovers at important junctions in Greater Hyderabad in 2.5 years has demanded the Government also to take up certain measures to tackle the present traffic worsening situation.

Mohd. Amanullah Khan, Convenor in a press statement alleged that the Government has sold away the interests of the traveling public in favouor of car manufacturers mainly in order to collect crores of rupees every day in the shape of life tax by registering new vehicles non-stop.

Hence, as a short term measure to tackle the traffic congestion and frequent traffic jams on city roads, he demanded the Government to immediately stop registration of new vehicles of all categories including auto rickshaws. Secondly, he demanded imposition of timing restrictions on all the existing lakhs of private cars for atleast three hours in the morning and three hours in the evening from 9 am to 12 noon and 5 pm to 8 pm. Or in the alternative the private cars should be allowed to ply on city roads only on the alternate days the cars ending with even registration Nos. 2,4,6,8 & o on one day and the cars ending with odd nos. 1,3,5,7 & 9 on the next day.
