Telangana Auto Drivers Joint Action Committee today organied a dharna at Transport Commissioner’s office here, protesting against implementation of Aadhar card for various RTA transactions.
Addressing the drivers on the occasion, Mohd Amanullah Khan, Convenor, alleged that the Transport Department was practically violating the Supreme Court’s orders by implementing the Aadhar card for various transactions. He accused the Transport officials had earlier agreed to get the autos transferred in the name of existing new owners from the old registered owners, but they did not keep their commitment and this is the reason why the new owners are finding it difficult to produce the Aadhar cards of the previous auto owners. He warned that if the Government failed to withdraw the Aadhar card condition immediately, they would be forced to intensify their agitation. (NSS)
