T-TDP Blasts TRS for Encouraging Defections, Making Mockery of Democracy

Telangana TDP today took the ruling TRS party to task for indulging in luring MLAs and encouraging defection of leaders belonging to other parties, and making a mockery of democracy.
Speaking to the media here, Telangana TDP President L Ramana and working president A Revanth Reddy accused the TRS using all sorts of tactics and foul means to woo the opposition MLAs and leaders. They further stated that the chief minister KCR is conspiring to make the state devoid of opposition parties.
The ruling TRS was also intimidating leaders of other parties and threatening them if they did not heed, they alleged and demanded amendments to the Anti- Defection Law. They said that all political parties and champions of democracy should bestow their attention on the defections being encouraged by the TRS. They said the Speaker of the Assembly and the Governor were not taking any action on the defections, and demanded action in the matter before the start of the Budget Session of the Assembly.
L Ramana demanded the resignation of those party leaders who changed their loyalties, to their elected positions. TDP has given political life to many leaders. But the TRS has no intention to respect opposition, they alleged and said the government is indulging in mind game functioning in the state. Revanth Reddy alleged that KCR kept aside development and welfare, and resorting to blackmailing activities.
Arikepudi’s Denial
Meanwhile, another TDP MLA Arikepudi Gandhi denied reports that he is joining the TRS. He alleged that some channels are spreading false information about his joining the ruling party. “I have no intention to leave the party”, he clarified. (NSS)
