TDP MLAs Justify Action Against Roja

Hyderabad: TDP Member of Andhra Pradesh State Assembly Anitha today said that instead of reprimanding YSRC legislator Roja for her objectionable comments, the opposition leader is wasting precious time of the House by supporting her party MLA.
Participating in the discussion on the report of the privileges committee in the Assembly today, Anitha said that Roja had not even apologized for her comments. The opposition leader, instead of holding discussion in important public issues, was wasting the time of the Assembly. She also said that Roja has insulted her in the House in front of other members, and she should apologize to her.
Anitha demanded stern action against Roja on the basis of the privileges committee recommendation. She also urged the speaker to take measures to prevent such incidents in future.
Criticising the behaviour of the YSRC member, Anitha questioned whether she (Roja) asked any question in connection with the welfare of people of her constituency. Roja’s only aim is to criticize the government, she said adding that punishment given to such a member should serve as a message for future generations.
Another TDP member Shivaji said new members should understand the rules and norms of the Assembly. On the basis of urgency or in needs, there would be amendments, he said adding that all systems work under the constitution. No member should use unparliamentarily or objectionable words in the house. There is nothing wrong if action against a member was taken as per the rules of the house, if he/she violate the house norms.
Roja’s behaviour and her gesticulation had violated all norms of the house. YSRC members instead of sitting in their seats, were seen more in front of the speaker’s podium. It was the responsibility of all members to protect the values of the house, he said.(NSS)
