Telangana Budget Session from tomorrow; Speaker confers with police

Hyderabad: Telangana Legislative Assembly Speaker S Madhusudana Chary here on Tuesday disclosed that the State Assembly budget session would begin from March 10. He also held a meeting with State police top-brass on making security arrangements.
During the meeting, the Speaker instructed the police officers to provide bar coding to Speaker Gallery passes and make parking arrangements in the Public Garden for the vehicles of Telangana MLAs. Stating that there will be Governor’s Address in the House on March 10 followed by presentation of the Budget proposals, the Speaker asked the police officials to make all arrangements to ensure that the legislators face no hardship during the session.
CP promulgates ban order
Meanwhile, Hyderabad City Police Commissioner M. Mahendar Reddy, IPS, promulgated prohibitory order to maintain public order, peace and tranquility in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. The order would be in force from 6 am on March 10 to 6 am on March 16.
The Police Commissioner prohibited public meetings and processions within the City without permission of the police officials concerned. He also prohibit carrying of arms like swords, spears, knives, sticks with or without flags bludgeons, guns, explosives, and other lethal weapons in the city. Assembly of persons on the public roads or public places disturbing peace and order or causing inconvenience, annoyance or danger to public and collection and carrying of stones or other means of casting missiles are prohibited.
The City police chief also proscribed use of mikes/public address system around the Secretariat premises, including Burgula Rama Krishna Rao Building, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Building, Commissioner of Fisheries building, Mint Compound, Nizam College and its surroundings, Telangana / A.P. Legislative Assembly premises and surrounding roads, Public Garden Nampally, Upper Tankbund, I–MAX, Rotary and NTR Marg roads also fly-over road leading from Secretariat to Visweswarayya statue, Khairatabad. Playing music, singing or speeches or broadcasting through loud speakers are also banned strictly.
The CP also informed that any person violating the prohibitory orders will be prosecuted under Hyderabad City Police Act. However, police officers on duty, Military personnel, Home Guards and bonafide funeral processions are exempted from the operation of the ban order. (NSS)
