Telangana Likely to Get Heavy Rains Next Two Days

Telangana  State is likely to  receive light to moderate rain/thundershowers  at many places during the  next five days, India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted on Monday.

The weatherman said heavy to very heavy   rain is likely to occur in Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Khammam, Warangal, Mahabubnagar, Ranga Reddy, Hyderabad, Medak and Nalgonda districts, during the next two days. .

Chief  amounts of Rainfall  recorded in Telangana today are:  Koida (dist Khammam) 18 cm, Ibrahimpatnam (dist Rangareddy) 7cm , Boath (dist Adilabad) 7cm, Perur (dist Khammam) 7 cm , Sathupalle (dist Khammam) 6 cm , Nirmal (dist Adilabad) 6 cm , Metpalle (dist Karimnagar) 4 cm , Balkonda (dist Nizamabad) 4 cm , Sirpur (t) (dist Adilabad), Velpur (dist Nizamabad),  Bheemgal (dist Nizamabad),  Shriramsag.pocha (dist Nizamabad), Adilabad (dist Adilabad), Aswapuram (dist Khammam), Mallial (dist Karimnagar), Mortad (dist Nizamabad), Jagtial (dist Karimnagar), Nandipet (dist Nizamabad), Dummugudem (dist Khammam), Kammar Palle (dist Nizamabad), and  Jakranpalle (dist Nizamabad) 3 cm each, Kunavaram (dist Khammam), Aswaraopeta (dist Khammam), Manuguru (dist Khammam), Mudhole (dist Adilabad), Pegadapalle (dist Karimnagar), Bhadrachalam (dist Khammam), Khanpur (dist Adilabad), Venkatapuram (dist Khammam), Armur (dist Nizamabad), and  Pinapaka (dist Khammam) 2 cms each, Eturnagaram (dist Warangal), Yeda Palle (dist Nizamabad), Navipet (dist Nizamabad), Thimmapur (dist Karimnagar), and  Karimnagar (dist Karimnagar) 1 cm each.

           

Met also predicted heavy rains in coastal regions of Andhra Pradesh for the next five days. Rains are likely to occur in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam and Nellore districts.

“The reason for increased rainfall activities in Telangana is a low pressure area, which is lying off the Andhra Coast. This weather system will move in a westerly direction and further increase rain over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana,” said Y K Reddy, director in charge, IMD, Hyderabad.(NSS)
