Telangana: Police foils transportation of cows, seizes 32 cattle

Jagtiyal: Check post of Jagtiyal Police foiled the attempt to transport big animals yesterday at 4:30 a.m. from Adilabad.

According to the details, 32 big animals including 23 cows and 9 calves were being transported from Adilabad to Jagtiyal. The police during its search arrested lorry driver and its owner, A. Santosh Raja Rampally and two other businessmen by name R. Gangadhar and G. Anil.

SP of the district shifted 23 big animals to Gaushala. He told that till Eid-ul-Azha, purchase and transportation of any cow is prohibited as per law. If anyone violates the law, stern action would be taken.

While addressing the media men, he told this. He further said that police is making all arrangements for celebrating Ganesh and Bakrid festivals in a peaceful manner.

According to details, 32 animals were bought from Mohammed Sadiq s/o Mohammed Ismail. Gangadhar and Anil were transporting them from Adilabad to Jagtiyal. Police caught them and seized the van and animals. A case was registered against them.

There is a private Gaushala which can accommodate 150 cows in which already 100 cows are there. With this, the number has gone up to 132. It can accommodate 18 more cows.

Present on this occasion were Mr. Sarvar Khan, Circle Inspector, Mr. Srinivas Chowdary, Circle Inspector of Rural, Mr. Naveen, Reserve Inspector of Police and others.
