Telangana Receiving Rains After KCR Left For China

In a sarcastic comment, senior Congress leader and former MP Ponnam Prabhakar on Friday alleged that the State was experiencing rains after Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao left for China tour.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Friday, Ponnam alleged that the State government was not bothered about the suicides of 1,300 farmers in the State. He asked the government as to why it reported the case of Limbaiah, who committed suicide in Hyderabad city recently. Alleging that the farmers were committing suicides due to lack of MSP and failure of the government in waiving off their loans, Ponnam demanded that the Telangana government, which is rich, extend ex gratia to kin of farmers competing with the debt-ridden Andhra Pradesh State.
In a lighter vein, Ponnam remarked that the State was receiving good rains after the Chief Minister left for China tour. “It is good for the Chief Minister to stay in China in the next two years”, he quipped . “The TRS government has failed to respond on the suicides of the farmers in the State”, he asserted and slammed the government officials for misguiding the people with regard to Limbaiah’s suicide.
Meanwhile, Nalgonda MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy alleged that the State government had declared that it would waive farmers’ loans in a phased manner but offered pittance to the farmers. He also said the Congress would pull up the State government during the ensuing Assembly session on farmers’ suicides. He also alleged that the Chief Minister was spending Rs 3 crore to visit China, but has no money to extend assistance to the farmers. (NSS)
