Telangana techie Haneef broke engagement, killed in Syria for ISIS

Haneef Waseem a Twenty-five-year-old, who has completed his B.Tech from Shadan College of Engineering and Technology. Then he went to the UK to do MS in November of 2014 died fighting for Islamic State (IS) terror group in Syria on March 15,2015.

Haneef was a native of Mancherial town in Adilabad district. After completion of his MS he moved to Dubai for employment. Last September he was engaged to a girl from Hyderabad.

One day Haneef called upon his father Mohammad Aleem and informed him that we wants to cancel his engagement as he is going to join IS. He left for Syria in February 2015.

Haneef’s father told reporters that “He also called up his fiancee and told her not to wait for him as he is has no time for marriage and a normal life. He told her that his life was dedicated for jihad.”

Aleem the owner of a hotel and runs a real estate business in Mancherial. Out to fear Aleem kept the news of his son’s death and the cancellation of engagement to himself and later they shifted to Shastripuram in Rajendra Nagar area. He as accompanied by his other two son.

The police said that Aleem has actually disappeared. He visited his home last September while he was working in Dubai. It is said that he was radicalised by IS recruiters.

Like Haneef there were many other youngsters who were radicalised by IS recruiters. The police has detained Salman Mohiuddin, 32, a resident of Bazaar Ghat and a former Google employee Munawad Salman, 26, when they were on their way to join IS in Syria.

Recently Anees Ansari Mumbai-based software engineer and Mehdi Masroor Biswas an electrical engineer from Kolkata were also caught by the police on their way to Syria via different routes.
