Telangana told to send infra proposals in Naxal belt to Centre

Hyderabad: Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya today said he has asked the Telangana Government to send proposals for constructing roads and bridges in four Naxal-affected districts in the State to the Centre.

Dattatreya said he would discuss these infrastructure projects, which would entail a cost of Rs 1,291 crore, with Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh.

The roads and bridges are to be built in Khammam, Karimnagar, Adilabad and Warangal districts, he told reporters.

On the current situation in the State capital, where normal life has been paralysed following heavy rains, the Lok Sabha MP from Secunderabad, who visited some of the inundated areas, blamed previous Governments for the problems being faced by residents due to flooding.

He requested the State Government to draw long-term plans and ensure coordination among departments concerned to prevent such calamities in future.
