Telangana Wakf Board helpless: No CEO appointed, Mafia active

Hyderabad: No appointment was made on the post of CEO of Wakf Board for the past one week. It is regrettable that not a single Muslim officer is available to hold this post. Mr. Syed Omer Jaleel, IAS, Secretary, Dept. of Minorities Welfare had issued orders for the appointment of Prof. S.A. Shukoor for two weeks since Mr. Asadullah, CEO of Wakf Board had proceeded on leave.

Prof. Shukoor expressed his inability  to take up this responsibility since he is already holding three responsibilities and also that he does not have any experience in Revenue matters.

The post of CEO is vacant for the past one week. No officer is available to care important decisions. Wakf Board had to pursue many important cases in courts. If these cases are not pursued, many important wakf properties would be destroyed.

It may be noted that a decision was taken to pursue the case of Gutla Begumpet property in Supreme Court but due to the non-availability of CEO, the mater was shelved. The conflict between Dy. CM and Secretary of Minorities Welfare worsened the situation. If the arrangement for CEO is only for 15 days, CM does not want to give this responsibility to Prof. S.A. Shukoor and hence e stopped Prof. Shukoor from shouldering this responsibility.

It is reported that Secretary, Dept. of Minorities Welfare issued this orders on 18th July which Prof. Shukoor  received on 20th July. On 21st July, Prof. Shukoor expressed his inability to accept the responsibility of CEO of Wakf Board as a result of which, Wakf Board has become helpless. It is also reported that former CEO, Mr. Abudl Hameed and Survey Commissioner, Ms. Masuma Begum also expressed their inabilities to accept this responsibility. In such a situation, there is no other alternative for Prof. S.A. Shukoor except to accept this responsibility. Secretary of Minorities Welfare Dept. met the Dy. CM and apprised him of the situation. He also informed the CMO.

It may be mentioned that CEO Of Wakf Board, Mr. Mohammed Asadullah proceeded on leave for 15 days vexed up with unnecessary interferences which has created crisis in Wakf Board.
