Telangana Waqf Board crisis intensifies; new CEO refuses to take charge

Crisis in Telangana Waqf Board has intensified as the new Chief Executive Officer has not taken charge after the Chief Executive Officer Mohammed Asadullah went on long leave. The work in the board has come to a standstill and a heap of file awaits clearance.

It is said that Secretary Minority Welfare gave Prof. S A Shukoor additional charge of CEO Waqf Board. According to reports Prof. S A Shukoor is not ready to take the responsibility as Waqf Board CEO and he has informed the Secretary about his stand in this connection. Due to beginning of Hajj season he is not in a position to work for Waqf Board.

Meanwhile Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali has also expressed his anger and opposed S A Shukoor’s appointment as CEO Waqf Board. He argued that Mr. Shukoor should not have been given additional responsibility during Hajj season.
