Tendulkar warns India to be cautious of Tahir during Proteas series

Legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar has warned the Indian side to be watchful against leg spinner Imran Tahir in the upcoming Mahatma Gandhi-Nelson Mandela series against South Africa.

Tendulkar said that Tahir is one of the good bowlers and Indian players will have to play properly against him.

“AB de Villiers and Hashim Amla are strong players, and don’t forget Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel.Then when you talk about the googly, Imran Tahir is one of the good bowlers. We have to play against him properly. Possibly he can be one of the leading bowlers.” the 42-year-old was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo.

The master blaster also lauded his squad, saying that the Indian line-up is extremely talented and fully committed when it comes to cricket.

“I think the Indian team is fantastic. They are extremely talented and committed. A lot of things are said about the players but I know them very closely, and when it comes to cricket there are no shortcuts. The guys are committed,” he added.

Tendulkar admitted that South Africa is a quality side, adding that he is really looking forward to the series.

India will play three Twenty20 international, five ODIs and four Tests against South Africa , which starts from October 2. (ANI)
