Nairobi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Monday, extended full cooperation to Kenya towards reaching its development goals.
Addressing a joint press conference with President Uhuru Kenyatta, PM Modi said, “The multifaceted development partnership is a key pillar of our bilateral relationship. Like the success of M-Pesa, our innovations are relevant not just for our societies, but will help improve lives in other developing countries.” Modi is in Kenya as part of his five-nation tour of the African continent.
“India is ready to share its expertise and experience with Kenya for its development goals.
India is Kenya’s largest trading partner and the second largest investor here. Even with that there is potential to achieve much more,” Modi said.
Terming Kenya as a valued friend and trusted partner of India, he added, “Bonds between our countries are long-standing. We share common legacy of struggle against colonialism.”
On his talks with President Kenyatta, the Prime Minister said, “Terrorism poses a common challenge. We agreed to deepen security partnership in cyber security, combating drugs, narcotics and human trafficking.”
