Bahraich: Three members of a family were killed and one was seriously injured when their car dashed into a stationary truck in Amraiya village on a national highway here, police said today.
The family of a leading businessman here was returning home from a function last night when their car dashed into a trailer truck parked near a roadside restaurant under Nanpara Kotwali police station area on NH 28C, they said.
Sitaram Kedia (70), his wife Prema Kedia (65), their son Rajesh Kedia (40) died on the spot, while the latter’s wife Urmila was seriously injured. She was rushed to Lucknow Trauma Centre, they added.
The driver and cleaner of the truck fled the scene, leaving their vehicle behind.
