Three Suspected Maoists Killed in Encounter

An encounter took place between the police and suspected moaists, at Aheri forest area near Venkatapur on Telangana-Maharashtra border, in the early hours of this morning.

According to information reaching here, three suspected Maoists were killed in the encounter with the Telangana Grey-hounds and the Maharashtra C-60 commandos. The incident took place when a group of Maoists opened fire on the police patrol party in the forest area in Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra. When the police forces returned the fire, three suspected moaists were killed.

The deceased moists were identified as Sobhan, Adilabad division commander, Dinesh and Mukesh. The bodies were recovered and are being brought to the district headquarters.

           

Police said that One AK 47, SLR and revolutionary literature were recovered from the scene of encounter.  20 cases were pending against Sobhan, who carries a reward of  Rs. Five lakh.(NSS)
