Thugs in Mumbai hand down a man from 15th floor for cash, 2 held

MUMBAI: In a strange incident, a 26- year-old event management firm owner in Goregaon , was hung from 15th floor balcony on Wednesday afternoon by four people who threatened him to let go of his legs if he did not pay Rs 1 lakh.

Jaideep Budrook, got free only after he promised to pay them Rs 25,000 and the rest of the amount later. Jaideep lodged a complaint and the police laid a trap and arrested two of the men who identified as Krishna Dubey, 30, and Asad Baig, 32, when they returned to collect Rs 75,000 on Friday.

When they saw the police they tried to pull Jaideep into their car, but he managed to escape. The police said. “The accused sped off. They were chased for a few kilometres on the Western Express Highway, where the accused even banged their car into the chasing police vehicle.”

The police also said that Krishna Dubey helped Jaideep to organise an event on June 29 around 3pm. Dubey along with other three arrived at the 43-storeyed Imperial Heights, where Jaideep stayed alone.

Jaideep said in his complaint to the police that. “The four barged in when I opened the door. They kept me hanging from my balcony and demanded ransom.”

Inspector Pravin Patil said. ” Jaideep gathered the courage to lodge a complaint late on June 30 after repeated threat calls demanding the balance.”

The accused have been booked under IPC sections 34 (common intention), 323 and 324 (causing hurt by dangerous weapons), 386 and 387 (putting person in fear of death or of grievous hurt, in order to commit extortion), 452 (house trespass after preparing for hurt), 504 (intentional insult) and 506 (II) (criminal intimidation).
