TMC hits backs at Amit Shah for lack of development remarks

Kolkata: Criticising BJP president Amit Shah for his remark today that there is lack of development in West Bengal, TMC secretary general Partha Chatterjee asked the BJP to compete with the development work the Mamata Banerjee government had done in the last four years.

“Mamata Banerjee has been chosen democratically by the people of Bengal. If they want to compete, they should compete with the development work ushered in by Mamata Banerjee government in last four years,” Chatterjee, also the state Education minister told reporters.

“Earlier, after hearing his speeches it seemed as if lotus (BJP) is blooming in Bengal. They had given the call to oust us. A democratically elected government can’t be ousted in this manner. If you have to oust it you have to fight democratically,” he said.

Shah earlier today said that the state cannot hope for investments unless an atmosphere of development is created.
