Top NDFB (S) militant killed in encounter in Assam

A hardcore NDFB(S) militant, Uday Narzary, alias Khilikhang, was killed on Monday during a joint army and Assam Police operation in Assam’s Chirang District. The operation was launched on the basis of specific input about the location of Narzary.

The encounter took place near Edenbari village. The militant fired at the security team on being challenged at the site.

In the retaliatory fire, the militant was fatally injured and immediately evacuated to the District Hospital Chirang, where he was declared brought dead.

Narzary was the self styled Platoon Commander of the NDFB(S). He trained with the 35th NDFB batch and was wanted by the National Investigation Agency in connection with December 2014 Adivasi massacre at Saralpara.

One AK-56 Rifle, some rounds and Rs. 31,000 were recovered from the dead militant.
