Training classes held for ROs, AROs for GHMC polls

The training classes for Returning Officers and Assistant Returning Officers were conducted in two batches from 10:30AM to 1:00PM and 2:00PM to 5:00PM today at GHMC Head Office. A total of 80 ROs and 80 AROs attended the training classes in two batches.

Training was imparted to the RO / AROs to make them acquainted with the polling process. The training included all aspects from pre-poll arrangements to counting (with thrust on nomination, commencing of EVMs on training by ECIL Engineers etc.,

After the training class, the RO / AROs were given live demonstration of EVMs where the ECIL Engineers explained the functioning of EVMS and other Do’s and Don’ts. Similar training classes will continue on Tuesday as the GHMC proposes to train a total of 360 ROs/AROs.

Shashikirana Chary, Project Director, UCD who has been appointed as Nodal Officer for ensuing GHMC elections, has given a Power Point Presentation and explained Returning Officers and Assistant Returning Officers the entire role they play from the day of the nomination, scrutiny, distribution, receiving, poll arrangements till counting of the votes.
